CBSE class XII result fiasco: Parents association allege board curbing rights of students

Bhubaneswar: The CBSE Class 12 results fiasco is getting worse day by day with the conditions put by the board after the Odisha High Court directed it to provide photocopies of the answer sheets of the students. The students had filed petition over discrepancies in the results.

The Odisha Parents’ Association has alleged that the CBSE is taking an undertaking from the students for providing the answer sheets. The conditions put by the board in the undertaking are students cannot question the scores awarded after revaluation, the duplicate of the re-evaluated answer sheets should not be provided to schools and media and not to approach the court over it.

Terming such conditions of CBSE as ‘Taliban rule’ the parents association has questioned how the board can take away someone’s right to avail justice.

Talking to OTV, Convenor of Odisha Parents’ Association Sudarshan Das said, “One is asking the answer sheets to check if he/she has secured proper marks or not. If any discrepancy is found the candidate will approach appropriate authority and raise questions to seek justice. But CBSE is saying that you cannot raise questions and seek justice, it is not only unfortunate but against the legal system of our country.”
