CBSE class 12 results announced
Bhubaneswar: The wait for students finally got over as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Sunday announced Class 12 exam results here on Sunday.
Raksha Gopal from Amity International School has topped the boards this year. She has secured 99.6% in the CBSE Class 12 examination.
The all India pass percentage stood at 82%, a point lower than last year’s overall percentage of 83%. Students scoring in the 95-100% range has increased to 10,091 from last year’s 9351, official sources said.
Meanwhile, the results of few students and schools in Odisha have been withheld ‘due to some technical glitches’ which has sparked off resentment. However, the schools authorities are trying to contact CBSE authorities over the issue and it is hoped the results of withheld students will be published by tomorrow.
“260 students from our school had appeared the examination and the results of 154 students have been withheld. We have already informed the matter to CBSE authorities and they have assured for necessary rectification at the earliest,” said Principal CDA sector-6 DAV Public School, Ipsita Das.
This year a total of 11 lakh candidates including 4,60, 891 girls and 6,38, 865 boys from 10,678 schools registered for exams.
58,935 students had appeared the CBSE class 12 examination from Bhubaneswar zone. Of them, 15, 278 students were from Odisha.
While Soumya Shambhavi (Commerce) of SAI International School secured 98.4% is claimed to be the region topper, DAV Chandrasekharpur student Subham Sourav (Science) has secured 96%.
The board declared the results at around 10:20 am today. The students can know their results from the official websites- www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.

CBSE Class 12 statistics, at a glance
This year a total of 11 lakh candidates including 4, 60, 891 girls and 6,38, 865 boys from 10,678 schools registered for exams, which is a 2.82% point increase from that of 2016.
The exams were conducted from March 9, 2017 to April 29, 2017.
2, 58, 321 students had appeared the Class I2 examination from Delhi region, followed by Panchkula with 1, 84,557 and Ajmer with 1, 31,449 candidates.
A total of 2,497 candidates under disabilities also registered for the exam this year, official sources said.
It is for the first time that the results are being declared one week late as the Class 12 results were published on May 21 last year.
Why results got delayed?
The CBSE class 12 results were earlier expected to come out by May 25 and it was delayed after the Delhi HC asked the board to continue the in-practice marks moderation policy.
The board also maintained that it will follow the Delhi HC order on the moderation policy, which was scrapped last month, and continue with it. As per reports, the board will follow the five-point moderation policy as directed by the high court.
