BSF recovers explosives from Koraput forest
Lamtaput: The BSF personnel recovered a huge cache of explosives and Maoist articles from Pangiput-Parbeda forest in Lamtaput block in Koraput district during a combing operation last night.
Reports said the BSF personnel of the 143 Battalion were on a routine combing operation inside Pangiput-Parbeda forest last night when they came across a mound of soil under a tree. Suspecting foul play, they dug out the mound and found several explosive items and a pair of Maoist uniform in a sack.
The explosives recovered by the BSF jawans include 43 electric detonators, 19 gelatin sticks, 200 grams of gunpowder packed in two steel tiffin boxes, a bundle of electric wire and a pair of Maoist uniform.
Soon after the recovery, the combing operation in the area has been intensified, the reports added.
