BJD-BJP fight makes things murkier for IOCL
Bhubaneswar: The BJP on Friday accused the State Government of causing unwanted problems for the Central Government undertaking company Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) by issuing it show-cause to favour Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited (DFPCL).
A tug of war had ensued recently between the IOCL and Odisha Government with a show-cause being issued by Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) to the former.
IDCO had recently issued the notice for violating land lease deed, allocation terms and conditions and blocking the road meant for public transport for industrial benefits. DFPCL was given permission to use the road for transportation purpose for 6 months starting October 2016 following a letter through the Industrial Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited (IPICOL).
After expiry of 6 months, IOCL through a letter to the IPICOL had demanded withdrawal of permission to the vehicles of DFPCL to use the road for freight transportation.
The BJP further alleged that the state government remained silent on the issue and is now politicizing the issue following the letter from the IOCL.
