Artha Tatwa scam: Pradeep Sethi, Manoj Patnaik accept duping investors in court

Bhubaneswar: Artha Tatwa Group chief Pradeep Sethi and director Manoj Patnaik, arrested for cheating depositors, have accepted their involvement in the crime during a deposition before the Magistrate on Wednesday.

Following appearance before the CBI Special court yesterday, the duo was produced before the Magistrate on Wednesday evening where Sethi and Patnaik accepted duping investors and utilising the money collected from them to lead an opulent life.

Earlier, Sethi and Patnaik had written to the CBI special court accepting their involvement in the chit fund scam.

The duo was sent to Jharpada jail where they have been lodged following their arrest in the scam around four years ago.

More than 20 officials of AT group including Pradeep Sethi have been held in the case so far. The group has allegedly cheated more than Rs 500 crore from depositors in Odisha alone.
