69th Foundation Day of Bhubaneswar celebrated with pageantry

Bhubaneswar: The 69th foundation day of the capital city of Bhubaneswar was celebrated with pomp and pageantry today. Speaker of Assembly, Niranjan Pujari, Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Parliamentary Affairs minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, MP Prasanna Patsani, 3 MLAs of Bhubaneswar and other dignitaries offered flowers to the foundation plaque of the city in front of the State Assembly.

Later on, flag hoisting ceremony was held and 2 bands of Odisha Police along with school children of 48 schools took out a parade.

Thirteen persons were awarded with Rajdhani Gaurav Samman for their contributions to different fields.

Pujari inaugurated the three-day long ”Bhubaneswar Mahostav” begining today.

“I want back the cool breeze which used to sweep the capital city. All the citizens of Bhubaneswar could join hands to bring it back,” said Pujari.

“This  award has made me more responsible about my duties. There are a lot of things which need to be done for the city. was communicated that there are a lot of things which needs to be done, ” said social activist for the challenged, Shruti  Mohapatra.
