3 dead, 6 injured in separate road mishaps in Odisha

Keonjhar/Bargarh: As many as three people were killed and six others sustained grievous injuries in two separate road accidents in Keonjhar and Bargarh districts of Odisha on Wednesday.

The first accident took place near Naradpur Dhaba on National Highway 520 in Keonjhar district when a truck collided head on with a Bolero heading towards Keonjhar.

Reportedly two persons were killed on the spot while six others who sustained injuries were rushed to Champua Community Health Centre in a critical condition.

The identity of the deceased has not been ascertained yet. Meanwhile, Champua police rushed to the spot and began investigation.

In another incident today, tension erupted in Barpali block of Bargarh district after a bicycle rider was hit and crushed by a truck near Gandhi Chhak here.

Demanding compensation for the deceased, locals later staged a road blockade by burning tyres at the Gandhi Chhak. The truck has also been detained, sources said.
