Body of ASI recovered

Patel and a home guard were pushed to a canal along with the police jeep on Saturday night when a five-member police team visited the village in search of some miscreants under whose name arrest warrants were issued. Villagers of Lanjiberna and some relative of the miscreants attacked the team and beat mercilessly. While three of the policemen managed to escape from the spot, Patel and a home guard were caught by the irate mob.

Later they threw the policemen into a canal in spate. Though the home guard managed to save himself. The vehicle in which the team has also been recovered by the rescue team, police said.
