Kendrapara: A 62-year-old man died after being attacked by a wild boar, triggering protests by locals who went on a rampage setting the Gahirmatha forest range office on fire, officials said here today.
 
The mob also attacked forest personnel including the local range officer, while keeping some of them hostage.
 
"The situation is tense in the village. Police forces have reached the spot," Kendrapara SP Rabi Narayan Behera said.
 
Two motorised vessels and a motor bike owned by the department were also set on fire, police said.
 
The man identified as Kirti Bhushan Mandal of a nearby village was attacked by the boar yesterday.
