Block Assistant Engineer arrested for 'misbehaving' with students in Mayurbhanj

A Block Assistant Engineer in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha has been accused of misbehaving with students during an official visit. 

The accused has been identified as Prashant Senapati, Block Assistant Engineer of Samakhunta Block in Mayurbhanj district.

After registering a case, as per the allegations, police have arrested Senapati.

According to reports, Senapati allegedly misbehaved with some students while reviewing the construction work of a toilet at a school hostel, prompting the school’s headmistress, Sebati Mohanta, to lodge a written complaint at Baripada Sadar Police Station.

Following a written complaint, police arrested Senapati. However, the Assistant Engineer has denied the allegations, claiming that he is being framed in a conspiracy.

Headmistress Sebati Mohanta has demanded strict action against the accused, saying, “The Assistant Block Engineer entered the school and misbehaved with the students. Such behaviour deserves strict action.”

However, Prashant Senapati has strongly refuted the allegations, calling them false and fabricated to frame him. 

“The complaint is entirely fabricated. I have always worked for the welfare of people and had no such intentions. The students were senior secondary tribal boys. The allegations are entirely false.”
