Unusual ritualistic activities reported at a crematorium in Marichipur village under Bandar police limits in Jagatsinghpur district have triggered concern and curiosity among local residents.
According to reports, several items, including earthen pots, vermilion, flowers and small ceremonial pots were found scattered across the cremation ground. Adding to the unease, locals also noticed blood stains and severed chicken heads a short distance from the main ritual area.
Photographs Found, Speculation Grows
Inside one of the earthen pots, photographs of a young couple were reportedly recovered, further fuelling speculation about the intent behind the ritual. Villagers suspect that the activity may have been carried out with specific motives, though no clarity has emerged so far.
Police Urge Calm, Inquiry Likely
While some residents believe the incident could be linked to superstitious or occult practices, police have urged people not to panic.
“Earthen pots, coconuts, chicken heads and photographs of a couple were found at the crematorium. The incident has created panic in the village. An investigation should be conducted into the matter,” a local resident said.
Police sources said the matter has come to their notice, and necessary steps will be taken to ascertain the facts and identify those responsible.

Villagers Seek Monitoring
