BJP’s youth wing to lock down employment exchanges in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Protesting rising youth unemployment in the State, BJP’s youth wing has decided to lock down all employment exchanges on November 5.
The announcement was made by State BJP youth wing president, Tankadhar Tripathy at a press conference held in Bhubaneswar today.
The youth wing members said that unemployment is on the rise in the State under Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government. The government has not fulfilled its promises on jobs made in the year 2000, they alleged.
“The youths of the State are forced to take up daily-wage jobs or commit suicide. To protest this, we will lock down the employment exchanges in the State as the government is not serious about them anymore,” said Tripathy.
Reacting to BJP’s plans, Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) president, Amaresh Patri said “CM Naveen Patnaik has always prioritized the issues affecting youths. The BJP has rather made fun of youths by asking them to sell ‘Pakoras’.”
“They (BJP) have always been melodramatic about their protests to gain media highlight. This lockdown is also a part of that plan,” Patri added.
