Cuttack: BJD supremo and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik today accused the BJP government at the Centre of conspiring to stop the KALIA scheme in the State. Addressing a public meeting at Badamba in Cuttack district, Patnaik said all farmers will be provided with financial assistance of Rs 10,000 (two instalments) on the first day of forming government in Odisha.

Highlighting the welfare projects of BJD, Patnaik took a dig at the BJP by reiterating that women are the real double engine of development. BJP heavyweights are speaking of the double engine but people of Odisha want to know who is their engine in Odisha, questioned Patnaik.

"Already five engines (Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan) have derailed from BJP's double engine. All these States had a double engine but why the people of these States dethroned the double engine? BJP's main engine at Delhi is also going to derail on May 23," said Naveen.

BJD supremo also BJP leaders only visit the State during elections. The Centre has failed miserably in the last five years as 50 lakh people lost their jobs while the common man suffered due to inflation and price rise petrol and LPG.

Meanwhile, the BJP leaders could not be contacted over the remarks of Odisha CM.
