Bhubaneswar: In yet another instance of pre-poll violence, as many as nine workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were injured after being allegedly attacked by BJD workers near Mangala slum in Niladri Vihar area of the Capital city today. A complaint has been lodged by the BJP at Chandrasekharpur police station alleging that they were attacked by the ruling-BJD workers.

The incident happened while the saffron party workers were campaigning for BJP's Bhubaneswar (North) MLA candidate Aparajita Mohanty.

Sources said party's Bhubaneswar district General Secretary Sushant Sabat and Chandrasekharpur Mandal leader Manasi Manjari Ray Padhi have sustained critical injuries in the attack.

A similar incident had happened last Friday when BJP MLA candidate Jagannath Pradhan was reportedly attacked during party's rally in Bhubaneswar. He had also accused the Biju Yuva Vahini  activists of pelting stones at the BJP rally. "'Biju Goonda Vahini' members pelted stones at the BJP rally near Unit-8 club in Bhubaneswar," Pradhan had alleged.
