Bhubaneswar: BJP on Thursday made it clear that it would go to the next elections in Odisha due in 2014 with killing of VHP leader Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati in communally sensitive Kandhamal as a poll agenda.
 
"We will certainly make Swamiji's killing as a poll agenda. The BJP will go to polls by putting soil of Swamiji's killing site on its forehead," K V Singhdeo, the newly appointed president of the state BJP told reporters after paying homage to the slain VHP leader at his Jalespeta ashram in Kandhamal.
 
Singhdeo, who replaced Jual Oram as the state president, in his maiden visit to Kandhamal said that Saraswati's ideology would be followed by him and other members of the saffron party.
 
Singhdeo also demanded arrest and stringent punishment to the culprits involved in the killing of Saraswati along with his four other followers on the night of August 23, 2008 at Jalespeta ashram.
 
Saraswati's killing resulted in a large scale etho- communal violence in Kandhamal and other parts of the state leaving 42 persons dead, burning down of hundreds of houses and damages to scores of churches.
