Bhubaneswar: BJP on Saturay announced its plan to launch a three-month country-wide campaign from April 6 to highlight alleged failures of the UPA government in checking corruption, inflation and extremism.

"We will organise a country-wide campaign from April 6 to June 30 to tell people about corruption, black money, price rise, suicides by farmers and growing extremism ever since the UPA came power," senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu said at a special meeting of party`s state unit here.

"The UPA-II has become scandal raj as a new scandal is surfacing everyday", he charged adding "this is something unprecedented as this UPA-II appeared to be the most corrupt government since independence".

"Lakhs of crores of rupees of public money is being looted and the Prime Minister has become helpless and willing spectator of this great loot", the former BJP President alleged.

Even on CVC, the government "bungled and the dignity of the Prime Minister’s office has been compromised", he alleged.

"The government has not moved an inch with regard to bringing back the black money stashed in Swiss Banks", Naidu said.

The BJP campaign will also highlight price rise and focus on agrarian crisis which forced farmers to commit suicides, Naidu said.

A 60-member central leadership of BJP will participate in district-level meetings during this campaign, the BJP leader said.

In Orissa, the party will also highlight the failures of the BJD government in the state and tell people about the scams that had surfaced here along with the central issues.
