Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) central election officer Thabarchand Gehlot has given nod for polls in 27 organisational districts of the state. According to party sources, polls in the remaining 10 districts would be held after the alleged irregularities relating to factionalism were resolved.

The move followed Gehlot’s communication to the party’s state unit a week back asking the state election officer to suspend the polls till further instruction.

Gehlot’s instruction came in the wake of complaints that senior leaders were not enrolled as active members of the party. Some leaders even alleged that they were facing ‘selective membership,’ sources said.
