Bhubaneswar: Even as veterans of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) expect an end soon to the crisis caused by senior leader LK Advani’s resignation yesterday, the State executive meeting here on Tuesday  passed a resolution welcoming the appointment of Narendra Modi as the chairman of election campaign committee for 2014 polls.

“We passed a resolution to welcome party president Rajnath Singh’s decision to appoint Narendra Modi as chairman of the BJP election campaign committee, keeping in mind the challenge of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and to achieve victory in the polls," party national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan said.

“Definitely Advani is an undisputed leader of the saffron party but the country’s political scenario demands a mass leader,” added Pradhan.
The meet is expected to discuss in detail about expansion of organizational structure of the party in State and various issues plaguing the State in recent times.

The meeting which is being held for the first time after senior leader KV Singhdeo took the State unit charge, is attended by Chandan Mitra, the party in-charge for Odisha, among others.

“We will delve into various aspects of organizational structure of the party in the State and come out with political proposals on issues afflicting the State. Narendra Modi is expected to visit the State in October to launch his nationwide election campaign from here,” party chief spokes person Suresh Pujari said.
