In a letter addressed to CM Naveen, the MPs said that implementation of the Central scheme- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)- is necessary for the betterment of the people of Odisha.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the State five times in the past nine months and always sought the ruling party's support in enrolling Odisha for reaping the benefits of Ayushman Bharat yojana," the MPs said in the letter.

Odisha government would not face any financial crunch as the collective efforts between the Centre and the Sate will ensure the funding of the flagship scheme, it added.

A large number of migrant workers from Odisha can avail healthcare facilities anywhere in the country. The scheme seeks to cover 50 crore beneficiaries in the country, including over 60 lakh beneficiaries in Odisha, the letter read.

Health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family and priority to girl child, women and senior citizens are given under the scheme. Besides, the scheme will cover all families listed in SECC (Socio-Economic Caste Census) database and it includes secondary and tertiary care, they said.
