Bhubaneswar/Angul: Ahead of general elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today kicked off its poll campaign in Odisha by taking out 'Vijay Sankalp Yatra' across the State.

As part of the yatra, the party has set a target to organise 5,000 meetings beginning today till March 17. Rallies and public meetings will be organised in all the assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies as part of the campaign.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today attended the Sankalp Yatra in Kishorenagar of Angul district and addressed a public meeting. He stated that the party will fare well in the five Assembly constituencies of Angul district.

"I believe that the people of Angul will bestow their blessings on the party in the upcoming elections," said Pradhan.

The purpose of the yatra is to explain the people of the State about the achievements of the Modi government at the Centre. Sources said the party will also highlight the failure of the State government and give detailed accounts of assistance given to the State in last five years.
