Kendrapara: With just a week ahead of the much-awaited election to Patkura Assembly constituency, BJP and BJD have intensified campaigning for their party candidates.

Today, BJP National Vice President Baijayant Panda and senior party leader Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo went on a door-to-door campaign trail in various areas of Derabish and sought votes for party candidate Bijoy Mohapatra.

Panda also took part in a bike rally in Barimula panchayat and exuded confidence about Bijoy’s win from the Assembly segment.

“As far as I can see, our party especially candidate Bijoy babu have lot of support from public because we need an able leader like him to get elected to the Assembly,” said Panda.

On the other hand, ruling-BJD too organised campaigning activities in the Assembly constituency. A party workers’ meeting was held in Chatara area today where several party leaders pitched for the candidate Sabitri Agarwal.

The ruling-party also apprised about the various developmental activities undertaken by the government during the meeting.

Senior BJD leader Sanjay Das Burma called upon the public to vote for the party candidate for speeding up developmental activities in the Assembly constituency.

The campaigning for Partkura poll will end on July 18 while the election will be held on July 20.
