BJP, BJD engage in blame game over youth unemployment

Bhubaneswar: Alleging Centre’s failure in generating employment in Odisha, the ruling-BJD members created ruckus in the Assembly today and met Governor Ganeshi Lal to submit a memorandum in this regard.

This came in retaliation to BJP Yuva Morcha’s attempt to gherao Odisha Assembly yesterday over allegations that the State government has failed to create job opportunities in Odisha.

“BJD is working for the people of Odisha but the Centre has only given false assurances,” Senior leader and minister Anant Das said.

Following BJD’s ruckus in the House today, BJP MLA Pradip Purohit said,” By blaming the central government, BJD is trying to save itself but people of Odisha are aware.”

Senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra accused both the Centre and the State government of failing to provide jobs to the youths of Odisha.

“Prime Minister had promised 2 crore jobs. Both the State government and the Centre are blaming each other for lack of jobs, but actually both are responsible,” Mishra said.
