Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) on Wednesday announced candidates for four Assembly constituencies--Champua, Bhograi, Basta and Niali. Senior leader and former minister Raghunath Mohanty, who joined the BJP at the saffron party’s Odisha headquarters in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday, has been fielded from Basta constituency.

Raghunath had joined the BJP at party’s Mishrana Parba in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, party’s national vice-president Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda and several other senior leaders.

Apart from Mohanty, Murali Sharma, Manas Mohanty and Chhabi Mallick have been fielded from Champua, Bhograi and Niali constituencies respectively.

Earlier yesterday, Odisha Congress had changed party candidates for three Assembly constituencies for upcoming polls while announcing its next list of candidates. The national party announced candidates for Sambalpur Lok Sabha and nine Assembly seats in Odisha.
