Berhampur: Much before the 2014 Odisha assembly polls, the ruling BJD and dissident MP Pyari Mohan Mohapatra’s ‘Odisha Jana Morcha’ are likely to experience an off the field battle, when BJD is holding a mahasamavesh in Berhampur on October 19 that clashes with Pyari’s Bhubaneswar press meet about elaborate organizational plans of his newly formed outfit on the same day.
According to BJD leaders, as many as 50,000 supporters will attend the meeting which will be addressed by party supremo Naveen Patnaik and other senior members of BJD. Sources said, at least three state ministers, MPs, MLAs and elected panchayat body members of the BJD in Ganjam district are to attend the gathering which will be held at Khalikote autonomous college stadium.
The district administration will have a tough time to maintain law and order situation in the city which will witness the mahasamevesh and the students’ union poll as well. Khalikote college is also holding the union election this year.
