Nayagarh: In a complete routing of BJP and Congress, ruling-BJD registered a comprehensive win in the Ranpur Notified Area Council election. Out of the 15 wards, ruling BJD captured 13 seats while BJP was not able to open its account.

Congress registered victory in one ward while another ward went to Independent candidate.

The elections were held yesterday in the 15-ward Ranpur NAC. A total of 55 candidates representing various political parties were in fray.

The polls to Ranpur NAC was earlier scheduled to be held on April 7 and postponed following Nayagarh district magistrate’s report that reservation status of wards has been published wrongly by the Election Officer.
