Bhubaneswar: After Samir Das, another BJD spokesperson reacted to Bhartuhari Mahatab’s remark over Pravat Tripathy’s suspension from party. Amar Satpathy, MLA from Badchana constituency, said Mahatab’s remark before camera will send a different message to outside.

No comment should be given in public after party president took any decision, Satpathy said. “He (Mahatab) is an experienced and senior leader of the party. He must discuss the matter with party supremo. He could have discussed it in the party forum”, Satpathy added.

Mahatab, who is the MP from Cuttack, disapproved suspension of Pravat Tripathy from the party following his arrest by CBI in connection with the chit-fund scam.

“I think Tripathy’s suspension was not justified. He has a lot of contribution towards the party and the state. The MLA’s arrest was controversial,” Mahtab told OTV on Saturday.

“CBI, a few days back, had told the Orissa High Court that it did not want to arrest Tripathy, but wanted to interrogate him to ascertain certain facts in connection with the chitfund scam,” Mahtab claimed.

Reacting to him, party spokesperson Samir Das on Saturday said that it was Mahatab’s personal view.
