Bhubaneswar: Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president, Arvind Kejriwal today accused the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of doing nothing for the development of Odisha during its 19 years of rule. Even after 70 years of independence, crores and crores of people are still poor in our country and most are from Odisha.

While addressing a public meeting organized as part of a ‘Samajik Nyay Abhiyan’ in Bhubaneswar, Kejriwal said there can be better schools, hospitals in Odisha like New Delhi, but the BJD government is being controlled by the mining mafia here.

“While coming to Bhubaneswar today, a person told me that BJD is in BJP's pocket and Congress in BJD's pocket. There is no BJD government in Odisha but there is coterie of BJP, Congress and BJD. There is no opposition here in Odisha as everything is rigged. Only people of Odisha can change this,” said Kejriwal.

Kejriwal further stated that people were not aware of the Aam Aadmi Party and they voted it to power in New Delhi. Now if the people of Odisha want change, the same can happen here.

“A reporter asked me whether APP wants to contest elections in Odisha or not. I told him that it is the people of Odisha who will decide,” Kejriwal added.

Odisha BJP general secretary Prithviraj Harichanda said,” BJP is playing the role of a constructive role in Odisha and we do not need any certificate from Arvind Kejriwal.”

Responding to Kejriwal’s allegations, Congress spokesperson, Satya Prakash Nayak stated, “The way Arvind Kejriwal tried to malign other political parties, just project himself ‘clean’ is not acceptable.”
