BJD MP Anubhav Immature In Politics, Misusing His Powers: Manjit Das
Anubhav Mohanty may be a superstar but he is politically naive, still inexperienced & needs to learn a lot, says Manjit Das, the MP's neighbour..
Cuttack: A day after BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty’s PSO filed a written complaint with Purighat Police against the MP’s neighbour & State vice president of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD), Manjit Das alleging verbal abuse and threats, Manjit today appeared before the police station to record his statements.
Speaking to OTV after this, the youth leader alleged that Anubhav is misusing his powers and threatening him of wiping him out of politics. “It is we who had suggested him (Anubhav) to join BJD but now after becoming a Parliamentarian, he is showing his true colours. He may be a superstar but he is politically naive. He is still inexperienced and needs to learn a lot,” Manjit said.
Manjit further questioned, “Why did he (Anubhav) delete his first video tweet? It was because he got so many negative comments. His tweets are condemnable.”
Narrating about the viral video purportedly showing him and the MP engaged in a tiff, Manjit said that he was trying to pacify two youths of the area who were fighting over some issue when Mohanty reached the spot and started abusing him.
Manjit further explained how his 20-year friendship with Anubhav gradually turned into a family dispute. “The MP’s house has no boundary but we have allowed him six feet land for passage. Besides, he doesn’t have a place to park his vehicle and so, he had been parking it at my place for the last several years. But a few months back, things between us changed, after I told him not to park his vehicle as my family members were facing problems.”
Meanwhile, Purighat Police has registered a case against Manjit under sections 341, 323, 294, 307 & 379 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) based on Anubhav’s allegations.
On the other hand, when Manjit was asked whether he has filed any counter case against the MP, he said, “I do not have any personal grudge against him. Law will take its own course. I won’t file any counter case against Anubhav as that will blemish the image of the party.”
BJD’s Cuttack district president, Debashis Samantaray said, “The spat between MP Anubhav Mohanty and Manjit Das is a family matter and Police is looking into it. I have not received any formal complaint from anyone so far. I will take action as per party high command orders.”
