Titlagarh: The sitting MLA and BJD’s candidate for Titlagarh Assembly constituency in Bolagir district, Tukuni Sahu had to face the ire of the locals who alleged that the legislator had failed to ensure development of the region in the past five years. A video purportedly showing Tukuni being questioned by locals during her campaigning has gone viral on various social media platforms.

As per reports, Sahu had gone for campaigning to the Assembly segment yesterday when some residents of Shibhratapara stopped her midway and asked questions alleging failure of the concerned administration in ensuring basic facilities including road, water and power supply.

The locals also questioned the other BJD leaders who had accompanied Sahu during the poll campaigning.

On being asked, Sahu today said, “As the government offices in the region were closed due to protests over district status demand for the past three months, the tender process of many development projects were stalled. There are issues regarding drainage, water and road connectivity in many places of Titlagarh and the tender process of the projects will begin soon.”

Titlagarh Assembly constituency will go to polls on April 18.
