BJD Leader Sanjay Das Burma's Effigy Burnt Over Illness Report Of Lulu Mohapatra's Wife

Puri: Protesting media report citing illness of Namita Sahoo, wife of former Congress leader Lulu Mohapatra, members of BJP and Lulu Sena today staged agitation by burning effigy of former Brahmagiri BJD MLA Sanjay Das Burma.

As per reports, hundreds of protesters joined the agitation near Brahmagiri bus stand demanding action against the concerned staff of the media house which allegedly published a false report on Namita’s health condition. A written complaint was lodged against the media house and its staff at the Brahmagiri Police station.

On the media report of illness, Soumyaranjan Lenka, a member of Lulu Sena said, "This was a blatant attempt to gain political mileage by defaming someone but we will not let it happen."

Earlier on Saturday, Namita had strongly condemned the report about her illness and said that it reflected intolerance towards her brother-in-law Lalitendu Mohapatra’s win in 2019 polls. She had accused that some people including the ex-MLA were behind spreading this false rumours. She also added that she didn't want it to be politicised.
