Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal(BJD) today announced the names of elected presidents of 33 organisational districts. Surprisingly, the list includes 19 new faces of the party.

BJD MLA Ananta Narayan Jena has been made district president of Bhubaneswar and Debashish Samantaray has been assigned the responsibility of Cuttack, Ramesh Chandra Chyau Patnaik for Ganjam, Sudam Marndi for Mayurbhanj, Maheswar Mohanty for Puri, Sarada Prasad Nayak for Rourkela and Siddharth Das is the elected party district president of Sambalpur.

Similarly, Tukuni Sahu has been assigned the responsibility of Bolangir, Mahendra Bastia (Angul), Rabindra Jena (Balasore), Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha (Bargarh), Jagannath Swain (Bhadrak), Mahidhar Rana (Boudh), Romancha Ranjan Biswal (Deogarh), Prafulla Mallick (Dhenkanal), Pradip Naik (Gajapati), Prasant Muduli (Jagatsinghpur), Saroj Mohapatra (Jajpur), Kishore Mohanty (Jharsuguda), Puspendra Singhdeo (Kalahandi), Utkal Keshari Parida (Kendrapara) and Saroj Karna (Kandhamal).

Apart from them, the party announced that Madhav Sardar will be the district president of Keonjhar, Iswar Panigrahi (Koraput), Purna Chandra Baka (Malkangiri), Kashinath Hembram (Mayurbhanj), Ramesh Majhi (Nabarangpur), Ramesh Behera (Nayagarh), Manoj Mishra (Nuapada), Sudhir Das (Rayagada), Saroj Kampa (Sonepur) while Binay Toppo has been assigned responsibility of Sundergarh.

Speaking about the party and challenges it is facing, BJD MLA Ananta Narayan Jena said, "The organisational structure of the party will be strengthened with the combined effort of all the party workers. In the upcoming days, municipal elections of Bhubaneswar will be held which will be a big challenge for us. We will try to ensure smooth implementation of all schemes and projects which have been rolled out."
