Paradip: An artificial habitat has been created in Paradip for birds in front of Paradip Seamens Club by NGO Adarsh Prayash.

The aim of this unique project is to provide shelter, food and water to birds that have lost their habitat due to construction of port, industrialisation and deforestation.

As a part of the project, the NGO has also made arrangements for food, shelter and water for the birds.

Chairman of Adarsh Prayas Sangathan, Amaresh Mandal, said “The main aim of this project is to protect the environment by creating a space in the middle of the city where endangered bird species can stay, get water and food.”

Environmentalists believe that this initiative will help in increasing the numbers of birds in the area.

“The birds living in this place have lost their homes. To permanently provide them a shelter with food and water, this place has been created,” said environmentalist, Amaresh Naresh Samant.
