OdishaPanchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik’s car was hit from the rear by a motorcycle at Balimakhar in Deogarh district on Monday evening, leaving one youth critically injured. The incident occurred around 7:30 pm when the Minister was on his way to attend an event in Ballam.

According to reports, the impact of the collision left two youths on the motorcycle severely injured, with one of them reported to be in a critical condition. The force of the crash flung them across the road, causing them to fall heavily on the ground. The minister’s driver and personal security officer also sustained minor injuries in the incident.

Minister Reviews Condition

The critically injured youth was first rushed to the Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital. Considering the seriousness of his condition, he was later shifted to Burla for further treatment. The other injured youth also received medical attention.

Meanwhile, Minister Naik personally visited the hospital to review the health condition of the critically injured youth and to ensure that necessary arrangements were being made for his treatment.

Eyewitness Accounts and Reports

Eyewitnesses at the scene mentioned that the piloting vehicle leading the Minister’s convoy had gone a little ahead, leaving the Minister’s car directly in the path of the motorcycle.

Reports further indicate that both the youths on the bike hailed from a nearby village. They were travelling from Basalai towards their village when they collided with the Minister’s vehicle, leading to the unfortunate accident.
