Bhushan firing: 3 factory guards arrested

Dhenkanal: A day after three youths were shot at in front of Bhushan steel plant near here, Kantabania police have arrested three persons in connection with the case. The arrested persons, identified as Khirod Sahu, Dilip Dixit and Ranjit Mohanty, were earlier detained by the police for questioning.

The shoot-out took place when the security guards of the plant opened fire at a group of youths from the nearby Talabahala village as they allegedly tried to force their way into the plant premises. Soon after the firing took place, villagers locked the main gate of the plant and demanded action against the culprits and compensation for the victims. However, normalcy returned after intervention of police.

The security personnel who opened fire at the youth have been arrested and will be forwarded to the court today, informed Dhenkanal SDPO Rajkishore Dora.

Meanwhile, police have kept the area under surveillance to prevent recurrence of any untoward incident there.
