Bhubaneswar youth abducted or taken into police custody! Family lodges complaint

Family members of a youth have alleged that he was abducted by a group of people from the Koradakanta area in Bhubaneswar on Friday night.

The abducted youth has been identified as Debashish Sahu. 

According to the complaint, around seven to eight persons arrived at the spot on Friday night and allegedly kidnapped Debashish. At the time of the incident, he was sitting inside his shop when the accused reportedly called him outside and forcibly took him away.

Following the incident, the family lodged a formal complaint at the Badagada police station, after which the police registered a case and launched an investigation.

However, sources claimed that Debashish may have been taken into custody by Mahanga Police in connection with a snatching case. Badagada police are reportedly in discussion with Mahanga police to verify the matter.

CCTV footage from the area reportedly shows some unidentified persons arriving in a Bolero vehicle and a Bullet motorcycle before taking Debashish away.

Family members alleged that the police did not inform them about Debashish’s alleged involvement in any case. Left with no other option, they said they were compelled to lodge a complaint at the Badagada police station.
