Days after an alarming case of human trafficking came to light in Bhubaneswar, following the rescue of a minor girl belonging to Jharkhand, a team of Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) arrived in the Odisha capital to investigate the circumstances surrounding the girl’s trafficking.
The victim, who had been trafficked and forced into the sex racket, was liberated by an independent team from the Jharkhand SCPCR. The team arrived in Bhubaneswar to investigate the circumstances surrounding the girl's trafficking and to gather information about her journey from Jharkhand to Odisha.
They met with local authorities and discussed the case with the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) to coordinate efforts and ensure the minor's safety and rehabilitation.

During their visit, the team also spoke to the victim to understand the modus operandi of the traffickers and to identify potential networks involved in such activities. The authorities are working together to trace the source of the trafficking and to prevent future incidents.
The case has raised serious concerns about the vulnerability of minors to trafficking and exploitation. Both state commissions are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help combat human trafficking.
The rescued minor is currently under the care of child welfare authorities, and her rehabilitation process is underway. Authorities are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety of children across the region, informed sources.
