Following the ceremonial flag unfurling, a grand parade was held along Gandhi Marg, drawing large public participation. The Governor took the salute from the marching contingents as they passed the saluting base, a key highlight of the Republic Day ceremony. The parade showcased discipline, preparedness and coordinated participation by various institutions.
Participation of Security Forces and Students
Special arrangements were made at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar for the state-level parade. This year, a total of 54 contingents participated in the celebrations, including various uniformed units from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), and Home Guards Civil Defence.
Students from several government and private schools and colleges across Odisha also took part in the parade, adding vibrancy and a strong youth presence to the event.
Tableaux and Cultural Performances
As part of the celebrations, tableaux from 12 government departments were displayed, highlighting key developmental themes and initiatives. Five folk dance and folk art groups from different districts performed during the programme, reflecting the state’s rich cultural heritage.
The event also featured a daredevil team that showcased skill-based performances, while young children impressed spectators with skating displays. The coordinated performances were warmly received by the audience gathered along the parade route.
