Bhubaneswar Development Authority announces Ekamra residency project

The 151st Authority Meeting of the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) was held today under the chairmanship of Housing & Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra and Chairman of the BDA. The high-level meeting brought together senior officials and key stakeholders to review ongoing urban development initiatives and approve new infrastructure and housing proposals aimed at strengthening Bhubaneswar’s growth trajectory.

Key Dignitaries in Attendance

The meeting was attended by BMC Mayor Sulochana Das, Jatni Municipality Chairman Ananta Behera, H&UD Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, RDC (Central Division) Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar, BDA Vice Chairman Chanchal Rana, and other senior BDA officials.

Ekamra Residency Set for Launch

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the announcement that BDA is gearing up to launch Ekamra Residency, a flagship housing project located at Subudhipur, one of Bhubaneswar’s rapidly developing localities.

Spread across 7.36 acres, the project comprises:

416 two-bedroom apartments

288 three-bedroom apartments

Three B+G+12 floor towers

Minister Mahapatra said, “The modalities of house allotment will be finalised soon. These projects will fulfil the dream of many citizens to own a home in the State Capital. Construction has already been completed.”

Infrastructure Projects Approved

The Authority also cleared several key road development proposals:

Development of the CDP road from Sani Temple, Niladri Vihar to DAV School Road, Sailashree Vihar

Construction of a 45-metre CDP road connecting Guru Kelucharan Park Square to Patia Railway Station

Development of the CDP road linking Nuagaon–Kateni Road to the corridor passing through TP-08

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by BDA Secretary Manas Ranjan Padhi, marking a productive session focused on housing expansion and improved urban connectivity. With major projects like Ekamra Residency and multiple road upgrades in the pipeline, the BDA continues to steer Bhubaneswar toward sustainable and modern urban growth.
