Bhubaneswar Biju Patnaik International Airport gets hoax call

Bhubaneswar: The authorities of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) on Thursday lodged a complaint at Airfield Police Station regarding a ‘threat call.’

Official sources said an ‘unidentified caller’ abused officials of the airport over phone. Though the exact reason is still unclear, it is suspected that the caller was drunk and wanted to get his ticket booking done.

From preliminary investigation it has been established that the caller was in an inebriated condition and a complaint has been lodged with police for necessary action, said airport director, Suresh Chandra Hota.

In its complaint, the airport authorities have mentioned that the staff here have been receiving repeated calls from a mobile number. The caller, who identifies himself as Mr. Parida, is using slang languages in Odia and inquiring for flight ticket booking, smuggling of ganja, drugs.
