Bhubaneswar: Adding another feather to its cap, the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar has recorded an overall profit of Rs 18.56 crore in 2018.

The city airport has registered a significant growth in terms of profit in comparison to 2017, informed the airport’s director Suresh Chandra Hota adding that efforts are on to make it as one of the model airports in the country.

Hota further informed that a high-level review of all the airports of Eastern India will be held in Bhubaneswar on June 19.

Directors and officials of nine airports in the eastern India will hold discussions on finding ways in providing better passenger amenities, good practices of other airports in the country and other measures needed to accelerate further growth.

“A detailed discussion on progress of nine airports in the eastern region, their functioning, finance and future plans will be held during the meeting. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) chairman will also attend the meeting,” he added.
