Bhubaneswar: Tourists and residents in the capital city of Bhubaneswar will be able to enjoy a ride in the wilderness with the launch of Bharatpur Jungle Safari today. The Safari was launched by Odisha Forest and Environment minister Bijayshree Routray.

According to sources, the public and tourists will be able to take a tour of the Bharatpur jungle in the Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary in five safari vehicles. The tours will be organised in three batches with two batches at 6 AM and 10 AM in the morning and one in the afternoon between 4 PM and 6 PM. A safari vehicle can be booked at Rs 2,000.

Forest and Environment minister Bijayshree Routray said “The Safari will surely be able to attract tourists and residents. The residents of Bhubaneswar will acknowledge the presence of a jungle spread across 20 square kilometres near the city. People can see elephants, jackals, peacocks and pangolins etc.”
