Bhubaneswar: The School and Mass Education department today announced that all schools in the State will remain closed on Monday (September 10) in view of the Bharat Bandh call given by the Congress over rise in fuel prices.

S&ME department Principal Secretary, PK Mohapatra today announced that the step has been taken as a precautionary measure.

Earlier on Friday, the Odisha government had directed all the secretaries of departments, collectors and district magistrates to ask all the officers and staffs to attend office by 9.30 AM and take all preventive measures to maintain law and order, and to ensure maintenance of essential services in their respective districts.

The Congress is observing a nationwide bandh on September 10 protesting rise in fuel prices. The Odisha unit of the party has exhorted all supporters and general public for support to make the bandh successful as a mark of protest against the unbridled rise in prices of petrol and diesel under the Modi-led NDA government.
