Bhandaripokhari police inspector in Vigilance net

Bhadrak: Officials of Vigilance department on Tuesday detained the Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) of Bhandaripokhari Police Station, Amit Kumar Biswal, after recovering unaccounted cash worth Rs 73,500 from his possession in Balasore.

Acting on a tip off, a special team of Vigilance intercepted Biswal near Shergad toll gate while he was going to Baripada.

During the search, he was found possessing cash which he could not satisfactorily account for.

Later, the Vigilance sleuths conducted raids at Biswal's residences in Bhandaripokhari and Bhanjapur area near Baripada.

An investigation is currently underway.
