Berhampur: The Vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous raids on the houses and office of the Junior Engineer of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Gagan Bihari Pati on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Pati is reportedly the in-charge of Berhampur and Gunupur in Ganjam and Rayagada district respectively.

Acting on a warrant issued by a Court, the anti-corruption officials have simultaneously raided three places in Berhampur which include Pati’s three-storey building at Siddharth Nagar, his paternal house at Co-operative Colony and in-laws’ house at Routkata Sahi.

As per the latest reports, the sleuths recovered cash worth Rs 30 lakh and gold ornaments weighing 200 grams from his Siddharth Nagar house.

This apart, raids are being conducted at his office in Gunupur and government quarters at Muniguda in Rayagada district. Till the last reports came in, the sleuths had recovered cash worth Rs 2.30 lakh from the two places.

During the raid, the officials also seized some important documents regarding his assets. However, the exact amount of the disproportionate property unearthed during the searches will be known once the process gets over, informed Vigilance SP.
