A bee attack left at least seven people seriously injured in Basulei village under Parjang police station limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The incident occurred near the left branch canal at Rengali, close to the village, when locals were walking along a road maintained by the Public Works Department.

As per reports, a swarm of bees suddenly launched an aggressive attack, causing chaos and panic. In a desperate attempt to escape, a young girl reportedly jumped into the canal.
Fortunately, local residents acted swiftly, rescuing the girl from the water along with others who had been stung.
All seven victims sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to Mandapal Medical Centre in Talcher for treatment. Till the last report came in, they were recovering well.
The incident has raised concerns among locals about the presence of bee colonies near residential and public access areas.
