An officer in the rank of joint secretary would probe into the allegations made against the BDO, he said. Gayadhar Mallick, the BDO posted at Tihidi was yesterday caught by the local people while he was transporting cattle feed in a private vehicle out of his jurisdiction. It was seized and Mallick and his peon were examined by the police after receiving the complaint. Mallick, an Orissa Administrative Service (OAS) cadre officer, however, denied the allegation and said he was taking the cattle feed to nearby Orali village for distribution basing on the demand made by Tihidi block chairman Kamalakanta Bhoi.
The BDO had also lodged a complaint against a local youth accusing him of obstructing him from performing official duty.
