Bhubaneswar: The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal moved north-westward on Saturday and turned into a cyclonic storm 'Mahasen', lying 1390 Km south-southeast of Paradip.

According to met officials, the system would intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours and move initially northwestwards during next 36 hours and recurve northeastwards towards the Bangladesh-Myanmar coast.

Rain or thundershower is expected in one or two places over Odisha in the next 24 hours, met office said.

Advice has been given for Distant Cautionary Signal Number-Two at Paradeep and Gopalpur ports.
