Bhubaneswar: At a time when Odisha Congress president Niranjan Patnaik and BJD leader Badri Nayaran Patra are at loggerheads to reign supreme over Ghasipura Assembly Constituency, another BJD leader today added fuel to the fire by taking pot-shots at Niranjan.

SN Patro today claimed that “BJD’s Badri Narayan Patra will win the Ghasipura battle as he won with a margin of 82,000 votes in 2014. Not only Niranjan, even AICC president Rahul Gandhi will lose if he contests from the seat.”

It will be a one-sided victory for BJD in Ghasipura, said Patro.

Responding to Patro’s comments, PCC chief Niranjan Patnaik said, “What more can be expected from a person who claims himself to be Naveen’s servant. Such remarks are an insult to the people of Ghasipura.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Niranjan Patnaik had decided to contest from Ghasipura Assembly seat after he was challenged by BJD’s Badri Narayan Patra. Patnaik is contesting from two Assembly seats- Ghasipura and Bhandaripokhari this time.
