Barabati land grab: ED summons Ashirbad Behera's son-in-law

Cuttack: The Enforcement Directorate today summoned Sanjeet Samal, the son-in-law of former general secretary of Odisha Olympic Association (OOA), Ashirbad Behera, in connection with the Barabati stadium land grab.

Sandip has been directed to depose at the ED office and record his statements on June 21.

According to sources, Sanjeet was the partner of M/s INCON Associates, the company which was roped in for construction of a Kalyan Mandap (banquet hall) called the Barabati Palace.

It is alleged that Ashirbad Behera who was the general secretary of Odisha Olympic Association had shown undue favours to his son-in-law to illegally lease out land inside Barabati Stadium for construction of the Palace and 23 other shops.

The CBI which is investigating the case had earlier raided the residences and offices of Ashirbad Behera, his son and Sanjeet in connection with the matter.
