Titlagarh: The farmers of Haldigaon village under Muribahal block in Bolangir district have been left to fend for themselves for the last three years in getting agricultural loans due to the moribund state of the Co-Operative Bank.

The farmers alleged that the non-functioning of the bank has come as a boon in disguise for the private moneylenders who charge exhorbitant interests from the hapless farmers. The secretary of the bank, it is alleged, has been running the bank from his house. The bank supervisor when contacted strangely said that he has so far not received any complaints and he would take action if anyone brings it to his notice.
